Guided path: create and launch a survey

Applies to:OwnerManager

Use this path when you need to take a survey from nothing to live. Each step links to the full guide.

  1. Confirm account setup. Work through the Owner setup checklist: organization name, contact email, timezone, notifications, team members, and (optionally) branding. Do this once per account, not per survey.

  2. Start the wizard. Click Start new survey and complete step 1, Basic info: title, open and close dates, the safe harbor threshold (it can’t change after launch), and, for annual surveys, the link to last year’s edition. Guide: Create and launch a survey.

  3. Pick a template and customize. Choose a template or start from scratch, then shape the questions in the editor. Run the Publish preflight check, preview as a taker, and test every conditional path. Then tick Questions are ready. Guides: Use the survey editor, Understand question types, Compensation questions, and Use conditional logic.

  4. Add invitees. Add people manually, upload a CSV, paste from a spreadsheet, or import last year’s roster. Clear any invalid or duplicate emails. Guide: Add and manage invitees.

  5. Check reminders. Confirm the reminder schedule fits the survey’s length: pacing for outstanding takers and the closing-soon window. Guide: Survey reminders.

  6. Launch and monitor. Review the summary and launch. Invitations go out within a couple of minutes. Then watch the dashboard while the survey runs. Guide: Review survey progress.
